How do I get to watch tv online with no disruptions?

I love watching shows on ctv.ca.and on discovery channel. But, recently every time I want to watch something it is as though there is a glitch or keeps buffering and the pictures jump like every second. And other times you can't understand what people are saying cause it is all choppy.I hope there isn't something wrong with the tower, but more tan likely it is. Am I right? If there is anyone on here who know what I am talking about please help me out .
