where can i watch US tv online in singapore?

i've tried the channel websites, where i used to watch tv online, ive tried hulu, ive tried some other sites recommended to me, nothing works! even netflix (which i PAY for) doesnt allow me to watch online outside us. i havent seen simpsons or family guy in 3 months. somebody please tell me where i can watch shows for free online in singapore!!! thanks!!

The Netflix is because of certain publication rights the TV companies have, they are only allowed to show it in the US. It is the same thing that the TV stations themselves have that doesn't allow viewing without a US IP #. You can ask a friend back in the US if they can hook up what is called a Sling Box and then you can view TV on your computer. You just have to pay for the box and they hook it up to their cable system. Lots of people have done it. Singtel does have US shows for pay per view within 24 hours of showing. you can also download off of iTunes for around $1.99/$2.99 per episode. Other than that there isn't many options. Some times there is a link online that can get it but not always. I do know how you feel, I miss ER, Grey's Anatomy, etc... myself. That is what sucks about living overseas.
Perhaps you could connect to those sites using a US proxy server so it appears you're connecting from within the US. The link below recommends this one: http://www.project2025.com/charon.php I've used proxy servers before to connect to mlb.tv broadcasts while in the local region because I didn't have access to a TV where I was. They vary and some are quite shady, so be careful. I have no experience with the one I linked to above, but read the review below and see what you think.
Maybe you can try a site like this: http://surfthechannel.com/ Granted, you won't get to watch it at the same time as the broadcast in US, but at least the episodes are definitely newer than watching them with Starhub (the only cable TV provider in Singapore). Plus, it's free to watch it at that site.
Get yourself a US based personal VPN and watch whatever you want. Proxy's are not fast enough to do decent video. VPN's work well for this application.
