Why whenever I watch online tv on my PS3 does the screen dim?

I start watching something on one of the online tv websites and shortly after beginning to watch the programme the screen dims I can still see the programme but the screen has gone much darker than it was at the beginning Does anyone know why this happens and how to stop it?

1. its the screensaver, the ps3 thinks your away from it since nothing is happening and dims the screen to save power....i usually just have to tap my controllers analog or something to stop it.
2. as the above answer says, it the screensaver. There's an option somewhere in the settings bit to change it. Settings > Display settings > screensaver
3. Yep. that is your screensaver kicking in, but it can be changed under settings. I don't think it hurts the life of your PS3 to keep the screensaver off either
4. go into the settings and change it to not power save! otherwise just move the controller button and it will go back to normal for 5 minutes.
