Is it illegal to watch free TV shows online for free?

I know its illegal to watch free movies online for free but is it illegal to watch TV shows like family guy, south park, etc online for free??

1. It may be, but you can just go to Comedy central website to watch family guy which is totally legal and southparkstudios.com to watch south park . btw those are my favorite shows.

5. No. I've done it before. If you copy them onto a DVD and sell it, then yes, that is piracy and is illegal.

8. Watch the TV movies is not illegal, nor is watching the TV shows. Copying the shows and uploading them is illegal.
9. no. not after its already aired. there are plently of sites that are legal...like hulu and even the channels website post the recent TV shows that u might have missed.
10. No it isn't because there is a site that's open now on the internet where you don't have to pay anything and you can get all the cable channels. so it's not illegal. btw, i think the site is like open visual or something like that, you can google it if you want to.
11. Only if the site is given permission as they are copyright. South Park is allowed since they put it online themselves, as well as shows under the Show category of youtube. I know you can watch some anime like Ouran High School Host club and Full Metal Panic on youtube legally.

13. go on baidu.com in the movies section. you can watch any movie you want to and tv shows. it's like google kind of. and it's LEGAL, cuz it's chinese :] btw, i watched new moon two days before it came out.

Note, however, that it would only be legal for you to watch the file that is provided by the network itself. 15. It really depends. Like lets say you go on any of the websites for NBC, TBS, Comedy Central, ABC Family...etc, you can watch episodes of current shows for free. But lets say you download them illegally from Limewire, Ares...then that is illegal, it's like a bootleg.
16. a few shows will put up the old episodes of their series i know south park do it but a majority of em are illegal they would rather you go out and buy the series dvds but it rare to never that there will be any ramifications for the veiwer
