Is Zango reliable for watching television online?

Every time I find a good site to watch online episodes, I'm asked to download and install "Zango" which will allow me to watch these episodes. What exactly is Zango? Is it reliable? When the install screen shows up, my computer tells me that the file is harmful. So I cancel each time and therefore haven't been watching any online television. Thanks for all your input!
